Society of Grasslands Naturalists is...
RESPONSIBLE
Grasslands Naturalists is dedicated to south-eastern Alberta:
to the responsible treatment of the prairie and Cypress Hills; and to maintaining the natural beauty and wildlife. We believe that a natural environment fulfils human needs and values, rather than conflicts with them.

AWARE
Our excellent monthly newsletter, the Sagebrush Chronicle, keeps members informed about the Society and aware of happenings on the environmental scene. It's a great way for members from other areas to keep abreast of our eco-activities. Members are welcome to submit articles and artwork.

EXCITING ACTIVITIES
The Society is an exciting, progressive group, which pursues diverse interests and activities. Being a member provides you with added opportunity to enjoy south-eastern Alberta's splendid natural beauty. Field trips and social get-togethers let you meet others with similar interests. Members play an important part in improving our quality of life through the understanding and enjoyment of nature.

MEMBER SERVICES

Whatever your natural interests: birds, wildflowers, geology invertebrates, ecology;
Grasslands Naturalists is the organization for you. Each year, we hold the Spring Bird/Flower Count and the Christmas Bird count. Our field trips (at least one per month) cover many aspects of natural history: from stopping points for migratory wildfowl to the river cliffs; from Warbler Walks to Natural Areas

COMMUNITY SERVICES

Grasslands Naturalists plays an important role as environmental steward for Medicine Hat and district through:
- wildlife and plant inventorying
- monitoring forest management at Cypress Hills Provincial Park
- presentations to government
- monitoring threats to the South Saskatchewan River
- and much, much more.

THE ORGANIZATION FOR YOU
We are equally interested in and dedicated to rural and urban issues. Our Society is the only organization that focuses specifically on natural and environmental issues relating to Medicine Hat and District. We are in a position to provide meaningful comment to government agencies on environmental topics.
